2025 – 9 to 5 The Musical

Violet works hard. Violet has been working hard for 15 years. And yet, she keeps being passed over for, and mistreated by, less experienced men who don’t work hard.

It’s 1979 in the offices of Consolidated Industries. Violet, Doralee, and Judy are three different women trying to make their way in corporate America, while discovering they might not be so different from each other after all.

Violet deserves her promotion, Doralee wants friends and Judy just really needs a job. And friends wouldn’t hurt.

Standing in their way is Franklin Hart Jr, their sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot of a boss. But these three women have had enough.

It’s time for Violet, Doralee and Judy to become friends, commiserate, accidentally poison and kidnap their boss, overthrow the patriarchy and improve working conditions for everyone. With a little bit of romance thrown in there, while they’re at it.
